Everything About Botox

As a person ages, wrinkles develop. And for a person who wants her youthful beauty to last a long, long time, wrinkles are simply a nightmare. It is comforting to think that medical science had found a way to make people look like 25 even if they are 50. The wonder drug that makes all of these possible is called Botox.

Botox is actually the commercial name or trademark of a drug whose main ingredient is botulinum toxin. Incidentally, botulinum toxin is the most poisonous protein and naturally occurring substance. However, further studies have shown that this same protein can actually be helpful if used in small quantities. This is the start of the commercial use of Botox, the drug that is initially used to treat muscle spasms but is today's most demand cosmetic drug for the removal of wrinkles.

The FDA approved Botox in 1989 for commercial distribution. The known effect of this drug is to decrease muscle activity. Botox can do that because it primarily blocks the release of the substance called acetylcholine. As such, the immediate muscles where Botox is injected to won't contract for as long as 6 months.

Botox became a popular cosmetic drug several years later it was introduced in the market. Because it can decrease muscular activity, Botox can also reduce the fine line and the wrinkles found in the face. By injecting just a small amount of Botox to the facial area, all your laugh lines, crow's feet, frown lines, and worry lines would disappear.

After injecting Botox to the face, the skin would appear unwrinkled and smooth. However, in the areas where the drug isn't administered, the muscles continue to contract and the person's facial expression remains the same.

Botox treatments are relatively safe. Of course, the procedure has to be conducted by a licensed and expert cosmetic surgeon. Botox is very effective, as it has been around for more than 10 years now. Initially, the drug is exclusively used for treating neurological and ophthalmologic disorders.

To remove wrinkles using Botox, fine needles are injected into the different parts of the face. It is important to use a micro needle for this procedure, as Botox in large amounts is actually damaging instead of helpful. And because a very tiny needle is used to administer the drug, the pain associated to the procedure is minimal. The patient doesn't need local anesthesia or sedatives at all. Instead, ice will be used in their place. Most patients say that the injections they have to endure feels more like a mosquito bite rather than a strong piercing pain.

And finally, here are some tips for Botox procedures you've all been waiting for:

1. Before you start using botox, you should consult with your doctor to make sure it is right for you.

2. Before you are going to have the procedure, make sure to get as much information as you can. Ask friends that made the procedure, read online to find out about risks and benefits, and use the botox treatments forums to ask as many questions as you can.

3. Go only to certified places that know what they are doing and have the right substance and materials.

4. Make sure the doctor that performs the procedure is qualified in cosmetic skin surgery of the face.

5. Cheap is expensive! Remember that when you have your botox treatment. You might pay cheap but then you might have to fix your face for more money. Just go to well known places with reputation and certifications.

6. The FDA recommends to use the lowest effective dose possible and also to wait minimum of 3 month between Botox Cosmetic treatments.

7. After you have the procedure made, don't drink alcohol and try to sit vertically for a few hours.

Anger Management and Insecurity - Declare Your Personal Cease-Fire

Anger management is only part of the answer to controlling rage and violent behavior, because anger's just a symptom of the underlying problem. The basic cause of every conflict, from family arguments to war, is actually not just anger, but deep-seated insecurity.

People act aggressively because they fear that someone else will get them first. They become insanely jealous because they're scared of losing what they love. They bully other people just to make themselves feel powerful. Nations attack other nations out of fear of losing influence.

Whenever people act in ways that hurt themselves or others, you can trace their actions back to some deep-seated insecurity.

Experiencing insecurity, at some time and at some level, is just part of being human. In its proper place, it's for our own protection -- if we had no sense at all that something unexpected or unpleasant just might happen, we'd walk straight into every kind of danger, every time. The reason why we check the traffic before we step into the road is that we know a car might hit us if we didn't.

Unfortunately, many people live in a constant state of heightened insecurity, where the slightest thing can drive them into uncontrollable anxiety, jealousy, rage or hatred.

These feelings trigger a surge of adrenalin, which can provoke a rush of anger or bravado, or some other form of aggressive or even violent behavior. If it's not released it stays within the person's system, causing stress and flooding the mind and body with harmful chemicals which do yet more damage to both emotional and physical well-being.

If you recognise these feelings in yourself, take heart. They can be beaten.

First of all, relax deeply. Close your eyes, clear your mind, and feel a sensation of warmth and relaxation flowing from the top of your head to the soles of your feet.

Now, make a firm commitment to yourself to be the best you can at being you. Don't worry about the competition -- there isn't any. You are someone no-one else can ever be.

Next, think of someone whose behavior makes you feel uncomfortable or insecure, angry or frustrated. Picture that person as strongly as you can. Forget the differences between you, and remember only what you have in common.

Maybe you do the same job, or live in the same neighborhood. Perhaps you both have kids, and want to do what's best for them. Maybe you're both ambitious, good to your parents, love music or like gardening. Whether the common ground is great or small, dwell on it, and look around for more.

If you can't think of one single thing you have in common, remember you're both human. You each have a heart that beats, a mind to think and feel with, blood that flows around your body, a need to love and be loved, hopes and dreams that can empower you to do great things... and the power to change the world around you.

Perhaps you've heard the story from the First World War, when the opposing soldiers stopped the fighting to sing Christmas carols. Afterwards they scrambled from their trenches to meet each other in the no-man's-land between. They shared their chocolate and tobacco, and showed each other pictures of their loved ones... and they realised that their enemies were just like them. There simply wasn't any need to fight.

If soldiers fighting for their lives could do it, you can. Think of ways of brokering your personal cease-fire. If you meet that person in the street tomorrow, maybe you could smile and say "Good Morning".

Maybe you could ask about their family, or congratulate them on a good piece of work, or comment on the weather, or what's going on in some sport you both have interest in. If you can do that person some small kindness, go ahead -- and if a favor's offered in return, accept it.

It doesn't need to be a very close relationship -- just let go the automatic expectation they'll do something hurtful, focus on respecting both the other person and yourself, replace the spirit of hostility with the principle of kindliness... and keep on doing it.

The atmosphere of trust you build will help to heal the other person's insecurity -- and any you have, too. You'll find a greater confidence in everything you do. Because you've changed things for the better, you'll feel greater self-reliance and empowerment -- and there's another spin-off, too.

If every person would just work to heal relationships and insecurities, the world could find a true and lasting peace. That starts, or ends, with every one of us.

Will you play your part, by letting go your insecurities and declaring your cease-fire with the world -- and, if so, will you do it now?

My Stance on Occupy Wall Street

Chaos and Controversy, arrests, and of course charges of police brutality all seem to be part of the bigger picture in the "Occupy Wall Street" demonstrations and campout. But, what are a bunch of Americans who live in the greatest nation in the history of mankind complaining about this time? My gosh, humans on planet Earth never had it so good in the past 10,000 years to my knowledge.

One of my good friends the other day said to me; "what the hell is their problem, go get a job!" I just laughed because anyone who has a job can't spend 2-3 weeks in a park at a giant shin-dig campout party, and indeed, isn't those who have a job who are paying all the taxes to pay for all the police out preventing these folks from misbehaving?

Amongst some of the complaints out there are; off shoring, outsourcing, right-sizing, etc, and yes, while that really is a nice topic for political fodder, which I am fully up on, indeed, I just imagine that I am diametrically opposed in thinking on this with 99% of those protestors - me being totally free-market, free-trade, and free-enterprise guy, and having the benefit of Fredrick Winslow Taylor in my family tree.

For those who complain about capitalism, well, I just bet they haven't really participated in it much, and would rather spout communist and socialist philosophical nonsense. There is nothing wrong with capitalism, in fact, any challenges on Wall Street come from the incestuous relationship of those in government running block for them, but that isn't free-market capitalism, as that is crony capitalism, which is exactly what you get when socialists and communist thinkers try to tinker and control the flows of the economy, resources, energy, and labor.

As a real free-market thinker, I am against over-regulation, despise lawyers, and am anti-bureaucracy and anti-union among other things. I see the world in a more realistic way and don't allow excuses or weakness in my own life and certainly not from persnickety left-leaning socialist or democrat thinkers.

So, I don't fall into the empathy trap that corporations owe the worker anymore than they agreed upon on hiring day, nor do I believe it is the government politician's job to create jobs due to their dismal performance in attempting to guide the flows of labor, resources, capital, or money to themselves, their friends or their personal grandiose utopian vision of the world.

Okay so if anyone wants to debate me on this, and I assure you will lose, I'd be happy to rip you to shreds and make you look like a fool to anyone listening. Sure that could be fun, so, your choice. Please consider this Mr. and Mrs. Occupier!

Ante Up, It's Poker Party Time!

Choose your Poker theme party purpose. Do you want a tournament or to celebrate a birthday? Or you could even do both at the same time! If you have a tournament, you can only use so many numbers of players and move up through a pyramid system to winning. Determine if you need an entry fee to cover chips or if each person decides on how much money they spend.

Invite your poker players with card invitations. Use oversized "cards" or simply the shape of a heart, a diamond, a club or a spade. These would all be available at the party supply store. They will also have all of the paper products needed if you will be serving food.

Poker theme products include plates, cup, napkins and tablecloths. Table pieces aren't really needed since you need the space for card playing. Decorations can be minimal, or extravagant. Balloons in black and red, along with black and red streamers can add a dramatic effect to your theme. Add in a little gold to symbolize money, and you have an elegant look.

Food can be made into fun poker shapes. Cut sandwiches, brownies or anything else into shapes of the cards - hearts, diamonds, etc. Rename food dishes to coincide with your theme. Make Sloppy Joes into King of Spade sandwiches. Make it unique and people will talk about it for weeks after.

Remember to take pictures as people fall out of the tournament. Take a group picture to post on a website or to save and add to if you make it a yearly event. Another good idea would be to donate any profits to a local charity.

Things You Should Know About the Unemployment Department

So many people feel guilty or ashamed by the need to file for unemployment. They worry that the unemployment department will be judgmental or make them feel as though they've done something wrong for simply filing for unemployment benefits.

With the advent of so much new technology, the markets are changing dramatically and there is much corporate restructuring. Employees are being laid off even when they've done nothing wrong.

If this has happened to you, don't believe it's your fault. It is quite normal to be angry and upset. Some people become depressed when they lose their jobs.

The unemployment department does more than just process your unemployment claim. They can help you to locate and access various resources designed to help you cope with the stress of unemployment until you do eventually find a new job.

Unemployment benefits are not a form of welfare, nor are they free money from the government. The funds were paid into an unemployment account by your former employer to cover you and your income in the event that you became unemployed.

As long as you became unemployed through no fault of your own, you are rightfully entitled to file for unemployment benefits. But there is much more that the unemployment department can do for you than simply process your claim.

The unemployment department was created to help people who have lost their jobs and need some assistance to get back on their feet. You may have been fired or the company might have downsized or you might have even become too ill to continue working.

No matter what your circumstances, as long as you're no longer working, you are entitled to call your state unemployment department to ask questions about your benefits or even about your eligibility for unemployment benefits.

Many individual state unemployment departments may also be able to help you with job placement and training programs.

Job transitioning is never easy for anyone, so always remember that there is plenty of help available, along with community resources. You might even be eligible for emergency financial assistance if your circumstances have become quite difficult.

A quick visit to an unemployment department website will also show you options you might have for replacement health care coverage now that your former employer is no longer taking care of your health care.

Call your local unemployment office and discuss your options. You'll be surprised at how willing the staff are to help you get through this time in your life.
